Funeral Services for Maureen Weaver Blazek, 81, of Wallis at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, 2610 Demel St. in Wallis, Texas 77485 with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment, Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. Pallbearers were Tom Cook, Glen Cook, Terry Sklar, Rodney Sklar, Steve Sanford, and Joseph Blazek. Honary pallbearers are Mark and Billie Sanford and Steve Ferrell. Maureen Weaver was born in Pierce Junction, Texas to parents Louis and Lena Haferkamp Weaver. She was raised in Pierce Junction at the Gulf Camp and in Houston, graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1949, she then lived in Corpus Christi for 19 years where her children Carol and Louis were raised, they were then transferred back to Houston in 1970 where they lived until moving to Leroy’s homestead in Wallis in 1989 where she was still living when she passed away. She passed away in Houston on June 12, 2013. Maureen married Leroy Blazek on July 21, 1950 in Wallis. She was a homemaker and member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, Catholic Daughters in Wallis, KJZT Social in Wallis, Guardian Angel Cemetery Board and special friend to anyone needing her help. Survivors include children, Carol Blazek of Wallis and Louis (Butch) Blazek and wife Sheryl of Spring, grandchildren, Joseph and James Blazek of Spring, sister, Ann Sklar and husband Adolph, Jr. of Robeline, Lousiana, sister-in-law, Leona Frank of Montgomery, Texas, brother, Joe A. Weaver of San Diego, Texas, brother-in-law, Louis (Ink) Cook of Sugar Land, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Waverly and Crickett Johnson of Alief and Mike and Wanda Scearce of Wallis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lena Weaver, husband, Leroy Blazek, sister, Cleo Cook, brother-in-law, Morris (Smokey) Frank, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Edie and Paul Sanford.
