Clinton Earl Blezinger, 85, of Industry, passed away on June 18, 2022. Clinton was born on August 2, 1936 in Industry, Texas to the parents Werner and Alma Blezinger. He attended West End School and graduated from Bellville High School. Clinton met Jo Ann Grebe at a dance in Welcome, Texas. They were married at Welcome Lutheran Church on April 6, 1956, and were blessed with 64 years of marriage.
Clinton's first job was helping to build Welcome Lutheran Church. He also worked at Bluebell Creameries, Texas Highway Department, Clinton Blezinger Painting where he helped paint many houses in Industry, along with West End Elementary School, and in the early '70s, opened Blezinger Corner Grocery & Service Station where he sold groceries, gas, feed, and fertilizer. Later they changed the name to Blezinger's, Inc. He sold feed to his customers up until March of this year. Clinton was a member of the Texas National Guard, Columbus Community Hospital Board of Directors, and Charter member of the Industry-West End Lions Club where he held many offices including President, District Governor of 2S5, Texas Lions Camp Director, Lions Eye Bank Director, and Texas Lions Camp Century Club Member, Industry Citizen of the Year, Industry Volunteer Fire Department member, instrumental in establishing the West End Water Supply and Industry Sewer System, Little League President and Coach, Welcome Lutheran Church Council, and Austin County Historical Committee President. He was proud of being a member of the 1953 State Championship 4-H Rifle Team. You could find Clinton at the feed store sharing his knowledge of agriculture and the history of the community. He loved traveling all over Texas selling cattle supplement tubs and doing presentations. He enjoyed traveling while he was Lions Club District Governor. His favorite place to visit was Australia, but he loved Texas the most. He enjoyed hearing about all of the activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clinton is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Linda, Greg and Brenda, Scott and Pat; grandchildren, Cameron, Jill and Garner Blezinger, Wyatt Blezinger and fiance, Lyndy Laurrell, and Bailey Blezinger, Nicole and Matt Bettis, Ross Blezinger and Sheila Spacek; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Kyndal Bettis. Clinton is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Grebe Blezinger; his parents, Werner and Alma Blezinger; and sister, Joy Blezinger. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Welcome Lutheran Church, 13636 FN 109, Brenham, TX. A reception will immediately follow the service. Memorials may be made to Welcome Lutheran Church, Texas Lions Camp, or an organization of your choice. |
