NORA DELL MAREK LUETGE, 89, of Industry, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, in Brenham, Texas.
She was born March 9, 1934, in Industry, Texas, the daughter of Eddie and Lydia Hatti Slovacek Marek. Nora grew up and attended schools in Industry. She was one of five daughters to her parents Eddie and Lydia. Nora was united in marriage to Lester Luetge on June 16, 1956. They moved to Houston, where she was a beautician for several years. In 1965, she and Lester moved to Schoenau, until the early 90’s when she decided to move back to her hometown. She continued her beautician duties when she moved to the country but later worked in the cafeteria for Brenham ISD, and was able to work for the West End Elementary School until she retired. Nora was a member of the Industry Methodist Church. She was active in the church choir, Dora Circle, and Industry Lioness. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to dances, and listening to music, had a green thumb and could grow just about anything, loved to cook, and bake, and was well-known for her tea rings, coconut crème pies, and rolls just to name a few. She also liked to crochet. Nora made several blankets for her grandchildren. She is survived by her children: JoDell Hodde and her husband, Charles, Rocky Luetge and his wife, Melissa, and Rodney Luetge and his wife, Laura; grandchildren: Jason Hodde and his wife, Lauren, Sam Hodde and his wife, Angie, Jon Hodde and his wife, Michelle, Lance Luetge and his wife, Calley, Lucas Luetge and his wife, Lacie, Leif Luetge and his wife, Emily, Travis Watts and his wife, Areli, Alexis Jones and her husband, Tyler, Taylor Luetge, and Lindsey Luetge and her fiancé, Brandon Lloyd; great-grandchildren: Houston, Harper, Natalie, Preston, Elliot, and Hendrix Hodde, Maverick, Eva, Gavin, Jackson, Emma, and Creed Luetge, Landry, and Katherine Watts, Ellie, Eden, and Everly Jones; sisters: JoAnn Bayer, and Gladys Keaton; brother-in-law: Walter Glaeser; and numerous other family members and dear friends. Nora was preceded in death by her husband: Lester Luetge; parents: Eddie and Lydia Marek; sisters: Ruth Glaeser, and Doris Luetge. Pallbearers are Lance Luetge, Lucas Luetge, Leif Luetge, Jason Hodde, Sam Hodde, Jon Hodde, Travis Watts, and Taylor Luetge.
