Sheila Prescott of Houston, TX passed away on November 9, 2021 at the age of 79. Sheila was born in Freeport, TX on July 5, 1942. She grew up in Freeport, Lake Jackson, and Jones Creek.
After graduating from Brazosport HS in 1960, Sheila attended Wharton County Junior College and was a member of the Starlettes dance team. With her mother playing the role of matchmaker, Sheila met Arman Prescott of Lake Jackson, and later married on August 5, 1961. They made SW Houston their home where they began their family of four. In 1972, they moved to Jersey Village in NW Houston where they raised their two sons. Sheila and Arman moved to Bellville later in life. After Arman Sr. started Prescott Tax Service, Sheila supported and worked alongside him to develop a successful business in both NW Houston and Bellville. In their business, clients quickly became "family". For Sheila, family was always the main priority. She loved her children and grandchildren. There are fond memories of large family gatherings, camping in their Mobile Scout camper, and bowling together as a family. Bowling has remained a strong family tie to this day. Sheila is known for her numerous displays of holiday décor, especially the Fourth of July. She loved local festivals and auctions, and usually walked away with "something she couldn't live without". Sheila is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Arman Jr. and Donna; son, Michael; grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Alex, Lauren, and Amber; sister, Janis; brothers, Larry and Ronnie; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arman Sr., and her parents, Vertis and Bernice Volkening A public memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Knesek Funeral Home in Bellville, TX. There will be a visitation at noon, with a service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Cat Spring Cemetery in Cat Spring, TX.
