OBITUARY FROM THE BELLVILLE TIMES:
World War Veteran Dies While Working On Santa Fe At Kenney Lawrence Drescher, aged 44, died of heart failure at Kenney on the morning of July 4 while working with a construction crew for the Santa Fe there. He was a cook's helper on the job. Mr. Drescher made his home with a sister, Mrs. J. H. Parker of Houston. Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. Parker and Mrs. Clara Stautberg, also of Houston, and two brothers, Ed Drescher of Caldwell and Charley Drescher of La Grange. Services were held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at Pilgrim's Rest cemetery, where interment was made. Rev. W. H. Dunlap, pastor of the First Methodist church here, officiated. Mr. Drescher was a veteran of the first World war and pallbearers, all members of Bellville American Legion Post No. 115 were A. H. Simon, anton Dittert, Lee Eldridge, Gus Riniker, Joe A. Peschke, and H. M. Brouillette. |
