Gloria Ruth Diestel, 94, received the call she has been waiting for on November 23, 2021, and went home to join the Lord. She died peacefully in her sleep and is now reunited with her loving family who passed before her: her parents, V.F. and Frances Vicenik; her husband, Arthur Lee Diestel; and son, Derek Diestel.
She is survived by sons, Darrell Diestel and wife, Bridget, David Diestel, and Scott Diestel. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Niki Foster and husband, Justin, Arthur Diestel and wife, Ashley, Stacy Soules and husband, Cory, Daniel Diestel and wife, Samantha, Travis Diestel and wife, Rachel, and Dylan Diestel; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Fenix, and Cooper Foster, Arthur Charles Jr., Ashton, Aubrey, and Adaline Diestel, Mikal Stewart, and Dante and Daphnie Diestel. She will be greatly missed by everyone, but we are all happy she finally has her well-deserved angel wings. Gloria was known as "Goya" to all who knew her. She was a woman of strong faith and was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining during the holidays, traveling the world, and spending time with those she loved. Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 4th Street, Sealy, Texas 77474 on Tuesday, November 30, at 10:00 AM, followed by a rosary at 10:30 AM and mass at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow the mass/gravesite service at the church. In lieu of flowers, Goya's wishes are for donations to be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, Texas. |
