Henry Hluchan,
Retired Barber, Buried Thursday. Funeral services for Henry L Hluchan, 79, were held in the Chapel of the Pete E. Etlinger Funeral Home here at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, with interment in Sealy Cemetery. The Rev. Carleton Dyer of the First United Methodist Church officiated. Pallbearers were grandsons. Michael C. Moore, Larry L. Childers, David C. Marek, Roger Gilleland, Jr., Frank W. Hluchan, Jr., and Charles M. Hluchan. The remaining grandchildren Thomas G. Moore, Ronald J. Marek, Jimmy Moore, James Mark, and Stephen Gilleland, Diane Marek and Kay Ann Hluchan, were named honorary pallbearers. Mr. Hluchan was born in San Felipe May 1, 1895, was reared in Sealy and attended public school here. On August 8, 1916 he was united in marriage with Miss Francis Zeruba. By vocation he was a barber for fifty years, having now retired. Over the years, his chief hobby was fishing, which he enjoyed until his recent illness. Mr. Hallucin passed away in the Sealy Medical Center at 4:00 AM January 8, following a few days illness. He entered the hospital Monday, January 6. Survivors are his four daughters. Mrs. Henry F. (Claudia) Moore of Bellaire, Mrs. Ellis B. (Mary) Childers of Sealy, Mrs. Alvin J. (Ann) Marek of Wallis, and Mrs. Roger (Dorothy) Gilleland of Temple; two sons, Charles M. Hluchan and Frank W. Hluchan of Sealy; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hluchan, his wife who passed away February 18, 1958, four brothers and one sister. Pete E. Etlinger Funeral Home of Sealy, was in charge of arrangements. |
