Gregory William Hayes, Jr, 51, of Katy, went home to his eternal resting place, on Saturday, June 27, 2020. He was born in Augsburg, Germany on December 28, 1968, to Gregory Hayes Sr. and Vera Hayes.
He graduated Katy High School and went on to graduate from the University of Houston with a degree in MIS. He worked as a computer system administrator for much of his working career. He is survived by his loving wife, Tara; children, Mary, Gregory III, Dylan, Cody, Ashlyn; parents, Gregory Sr. and Vera; as well as extended family members and many friends. Gregory was a kind and gentle man. He never met a stranger he did not like and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a great love for firetrucks, motorcycles, bicycles, and music. Gregory was also an avid reader. He enjoyed reading Tom Clancy and Nelson DeMille books. Among his many accomplishments, one of his favorites was completing the BPMS150 bike ride from Houston to Austin. He also enjoyed playing his baritone saxophone. He was a wonderful son, husband, and father. He will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at St. Barts Catholic Church, 5356 11th St., Katy, Texas 77493. Burial will be in Sealy Cemetery, 768 Fourth Street, Sealy, TX 77474 at 2:30 PM. |
