Judith Faye Wendt Leschper, of Sealy, passed away on April 3, 2019. She was born November 23, 1937 in Bellville to Kenneth Wendt and Ardona Wendt Balke. She graduated from Sealy schools and Blinn Junior College.
She married Walter Leschper, Jr. on March 3, 1962 and they made a home and raised their family in the Peters Community. She and her husband owned and operated a Guernsey dairy farm for many years then ran the Sealy Bus Station for a number of years. She also served as Treasurer for Peters Hall & Austin County Gun Club, where she was the first woman to hold an office as well one of the first female members. Judy also enjoyed league bowling at the Sealy Bowling Palace and was a longtime member of the Peters -Hacienda Friendship Club. She worked as a cook at Azalea Manor then Colonial Belle Nursing home for 30 years. She was a hard worker and was not afraid to do the work that needed to be done. She loved to sew and made many wonderful things to treasure. She was an avid reader, loved history, and loved doing crossword and other types of word puzzles. She was an animal lover, especially of cats. In later years she was even able to convince Walter to let a cat, Cat, live in the house. She also loved going to the Hill Country and playing cards and dominoes with friends and family. Judy is survived by her daughter, Angela Leschper; and son, Andrew Leschper and wife, Susan; daughter, Alicia Leschper Farrell and husband, Cecil; grandchildren, Sara Leschper, Cathryn Farrell, Cecil Farrell Jr.; step-grandchildren, Stephen Scott, Christine Gaitan; and step-great-grandchildren, Chasidy Scott and husband, Cyler Woytek, Devin Scott, Destiny Scott, Bailey Gaitan, Ashton Gaitan, and Christian Gaitan; and step-great-great-grandchild, Paisley Drew Woytek. She is also survived by her brothers, Marvin Wendt, wife Renee, and Charles Wendt Sr. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys Leschper, Kenneth Leschper and wife, Cleba, Adolph Leschper and wife, Edna, Marilyn Leschper Prince, Doris Leschper Krolczyk and husband, Clem, and Nelda Leschper Tamborello and husband, Tommy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Leschper Jr.; her parents, Kenneth Wendt and Ardona Wendt Balke; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter Leschper Sr. and Mary Ludwig Leschper; brothers-in-law, Lee Roy Leschper, Leon Frank, Jerry Prince, and Wibert Leschper; sisters-in-law, Janie Leschper, Maggie Leschper, Florence Leschper Frank, and Waldine Wendt. Funeral services were held at Knesek Funeral Home Monday, April 8th 2019. Pallbearers: Mark Meloneck, Rodney Wendt, Stephen Scott, Joseph Jez, Jeff Krolcyzk, and Rex Waxler. Honorary Pallbearers: Mason Brandes, Gene Leschper.
