Bellville Times, December 10, 1950:
Mrs. Adolph Koeppen, aged 59, died at her home in Sealy on Wednesday, December 6, after a lingering illness of several months. Burial was in the Sealy Cemetery with Rev. O.C. Schreiner officiating. Pallbearers were Elmer Lepp, C.S. Ackley, Arthur C. Brandt, L.L. Bender, Otto L. Beckmann, and Dan Wilson. Services were from the Presibisch Funeral Home under the direction of the Pete E. Etlinger Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. on last Friday. Mrs. Koeppen was born Miss Ella Pless on November 8, 1891 at Cat Spring and attended the schools there. She was married on April 27, 1915. In 1926, they moved to Houston where they lived until 1946, when they located in Sealy and operated Koeppen's Cafe and Courts. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Houston. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Miss Edna Mae Koeppen of Sealy and Mrs. D.H. Evans of Fairbanks; one son, Irvin Lee Koeppen of Sealy; one sister, Mrs. Edwin Goebel of Cat Spring; one brother, Otto Pless of Hilebrock; and one grandson, Lloyd Wayne Koeppen. |
