COL. W.W. JENNINGS DEAD
Resided in Texas Number of Years--Uncle of W.J. Bryan Alvin, Texas, November 7. ---Colonel W. W. Jennings, an old and highly respected citizen of this county, died at his home in this city at 12 o'clock noon today after a lingering illness of several months. Colonel Jennings had lived to the ripe old age of 81 years, but was a well preserved man when he took his bed six months ago with fever. Mr. Jennings was a former resident of Illinois and an uncle of Colonel William J. Bryan, but came to Texas a number of years ago, making his home at Sealy, Bellville, and later moved to this place where he has made his home for the past ten years. Colonel Jennings was a veteran of the civil war and was an honored member of the Grand Army of the Republic post at this place. He was also a consistent member of the Methodist church. The remains will be taken to Sealy tomorrow for burial |
