Frances Lera (Buchanan) Huey sas born June 21, 1921 in Houston, TX to Mr. J.G. Buchanan and Mary Frances Bland Buchanan. She attended Cooley Elementary, Hamilton Junior High School, and John H. Regan High School, class of 1939. While at Hamilton Jr. High she was on the pep squad. She attended Massey Business College.
Mrs. Huey is a retiree from University of Houston, she worked as a purchasing technician and in 1987-1988, she won the staff excellence award. She was a proud supporter of University of Houston Athletics. She loved to go to the movies, sports, and church. She attended Lutheran Church. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Preston E. Huey. They met at Interstate Theatres, while he was at the Yale Theatre and she worked as a candy girl. She is survived by sons, Donald Huey, and Robert Huey and wife, Beckey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were entrusted to Earthman Funeral Directors of Bellaire, Texas. |
