Bernetta Ann Hering was born March 7, 1928 in Sealy, Texas to Edwin Hinze and Annie (Schneider) Hinze. Bernetta went to school in Cannon Hill and Mixville Community then Sealy High School and graduated from Sealy High School in 1946. On March 20, 1951, Bernetta married Ernest Hering at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy. They lived on her family farm in Sealy. She was a house wife all her life. She helped on the farm where she loved her flower garden and going fishing. She always seemed to get the first fish and it was usually the biggest. She loved to sew and spend many hours making dresses for herself, mother, children and grandchildren until arthritis made her fingers too stiff. She died on February 11, 2017 in Bellville.
Bernetta was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Annie Hinze; husband, Ernest Hering; daughter, Debbie (Gentry) Hering; infant daughter, Janis Hering; sister-in-law, Ernestine (Tina) Hering and husband, Henry Schneider; sisters-in-law, Gladys Belote and Rose Hering; and brothers-in-law, Charles W. Gebhardt and Earl Hering . Survivors include daughter, Jean Hering; sister, Dorothy Gebhardt; granddaughter, Tina Cass and husband, Rusty; granddaughter, Gena Conant and husband, Kevin; grandson, Jason Gentry; great-grandsons, Dillon and Kyle Cass; great-granddaughter, Brittany Perez and husband, Shawn; great-granddaughter, Christan Lorfing; and great-grandson, Nathan Lorfing; great-great-grandchildren, Dakota, Ryder, Hayden, Kase, and Logan Perez, and Sadie Clayton; step-great-granddaughters, Alexander, Cassandra, and Elizabeth Conant; nephew, Charles R. Gebhardt; and niece, Kathy Harris; and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services Friday, February 17, 2017, at Knesek Funeral Home in Sealy at 10:00 am with Rev. Dale Leland officiating. Interment in the Sealy Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jason Gentry, Dillon Cass, Nathan Lorfing, Charles Gebhardt, Donnie Schneider, and Shawn Perez.
