Katie Marie Loehr Bryant of Sealy, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep in Humble, TX early on Saturday morning, December 5th, 2015 at the age of 90. Katie was born in Bellville, TX to George and Natalie Loehr on August 25th, 1925 and grew up in Sealy, TX. She graduated from Bellville high School on May 27th, 1942 and moved to Galveston, TX where she eventually met and married her husband of over 50 years in 1946. Katie was a much loved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband, Allen Elvin Bryant, of San Augustine, TX who passed on May 22nd, 1999 in Katy, TX. They resided and raised their two children in Houston, TX and eventually both retired in Sealy, TX. Allen and Katie ran several laundromat's in the early 1960-70's and eventually owned and operated a very successful commercial plumbing company in Houston, TX by the name of Bryant Plumbing Company. Katie enjoyed traveling throughout the US with her family and friends. She took many road trips to her favorite destination spot in her later years to Branson, MO with her sisters-in-law to see the shows. She also loved large family gatherings during the holidays. Katie and her husband, Allen, hosted several large parties for friends and family for Thanksgiving and Christmas on their estate in Sealy, TX. Katie was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Sealy, TX before moving to Kingwood, TX to be closer to family after her husband's passing. Katie Bryant was happiest when making others happy and spent her years supporting and helping those around her. She will be missed and loved dearly, but will always be remembered with joy by her family. Katie was predeceased by her daughter, Joyce Elaine Bryant-Hambrick, deceased June 26th, 1993, and survived by her son and his fiancé, Glenn Edward Bryant and Ricki Cheryl Haynes of Houston, TX; her three granddaughters and respective husbands, Amber Brook Fritz-Elliott and Michael Ryan Elliott, Christina Mae Bryant-Round and David Douglas Round, and Brittin Richele Bryant-Pike and Samuel Thomas Pike of Kingwood, TX; and her six great-grandchildren, Hannah Victoria Fritz-Young, Macen Ryan Elliott, Kevin Aaron Rueby, Heleina Joyce Round, Sidney Albert-Allen Round, and the baby, Lincoln Douglas Round. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2015, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Knesek Bros. Fourth Street Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Curtis Mathis, officiating. Entombment will take place at Sealy Cemetery . |
