Dorothy Virginia Lummus was born on January 21, 1927 in Waco, Texas to parents, Joseph Goree Lummus, Sr. and Myrtle Haley Lummus. She was raised in Katy and Sealy and graduated from Sealy High School in the class of 1944. Dorothy worked for many years as a secretary for Anderson-Storey Class Company before her retirement. She married Oscar Ford on January 21, 1978. Mrs. Ford was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sealy. She passed away on August 10, 2013 in Sealy.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Ford and Norman Jackson of Sealy; sisters, Louise Kuchara of Sealy, Myrtle Giddens of Bellville, Joe Ann Kiesewetter and Ervin of Bellville, Jo Nell Cooper and Monroe of Friendswood; sister-in-law, Carol Verm Lummus of Houston; and grandson, Brett Attaway of Sealy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Myrtle Lummus; husbands, Eddie Ray Ball and Oscar Ford; brothers, Bobby Lummus and Joseph Lummus Jr.; sister, Gloria Magill; niece, Jo Ann Magill; nephews, Aaron Magill III and Andy Kiesewetter; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Krampitz. Graveside services for Dorothy Virginia Lummus Ball Ford, 86, of Sealy, Texas, 11:30 am, Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Sealy Cemetery, with Rev. Lani Rousseau officiating. |
