GLADYS RUTH (MIKESKA) BOESCHE died on Saturday, May 10, 2014, in Pasadena, Texas.
Gladys was born on November 14, 1927 in Welcome, Austin County, Texas the daughter of Frank and Mary Mikeska. She grew up with 9 sisters and 1 brother. She moved with her parents to Brenham, Texas and graduated from Brenham High School in 1946. Following graduation, she attended Durham Business College. Later she was employed by Pure Oil Company as a secretary. In 1948 she married Joa Boelsche and they moved to Pasadena, Texas. They were blessed with two sons, John and Randy. She was an active and devoted mother, serving as Sunday school teacher, scout leader and she attended countless band concerts and football games. Gladys enjoyed her three grandchildren, her flowers and gardening. Gladys is survived by her sons, John of Surfside, Randy and wife Kaye of Sagemont, her grandchildren Jacob, Grace and Sarah, her sister Evelyn Kamas and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, May 13, at Niday Funeral Home – Beamer Chapel. A funeral service celebrating Gladys' life will be held at Nelsonville Brethren Church on Wednesday, May 14, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Wesley Brethren Church Cemetery. |
