William L. "Willie" Stoerner, 85, of Bleiblerville, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at his residence. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2016, in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, February 29,2016, in Welcome Lutheran Church with Pastor John R. Sutton, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Willie was born in Burton, Texas, to the late W. C. and Elfrida (Breitkreutz) Stoerner. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during the Korean War. Willie was married to Jeanie Wiecker. Willie retired as a production foreman after working at Dow Chemical for thirty-nine years. Willie’s memberships include Welcome Lutheran Church where he was their financial secretary and cemetery sexton, Bleiblerville Volunteer Fire Department, Meals on Wheels, and V.F.W. Post in Freeport, Texas. He was preceded in death by a son, William K. Stoerner. Survivors include his wife Jeanie; son, Louis Stoerner and wife, Kevin; daughter, Mary Jo Callaway and husband, Don; daughter-in-law, Bettye Jo Stoerner; grandchildren: Corey Stoerner, Amanda Stoerner, Amy Callaway, Allie Callaway and William E. Stoerner; sisters, Florence Raeke and Doris Lentz; other relatives and many friends. J21 |
