Schultz, Richard William
Obituary
2020
Richard William Schultz was born on November 5, 1931 in the windy city of Chicago, Illinois. He loved the Bulls and the Bears but he was a die-hard Cubs fan; any chance he had, he would be at Wrigley Field.
He met his future wife, Joyce Elaine Flake, as young teenagers before he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a seaman on the USS Ajax in the Communications Division. Richard served his country proudly; he served four years and was honorably discharged March 6, 1956. On December 26, 1953, he married Joyce; together they had three children, one boy and two daughters. Richard and his family moved to Texas in 1956. For many years he worked as a breadman but later moved into security. He was also a great family man; he loved coaching his children in both softball and baseball, taking the family camping and fishing; he was also an avid bowler deep into his 70s. Richard enjoyed his retirement where family was still number one; he enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters. He will be forever loved and missed dearly from each and everyone of his family, from his wife down to his great-grandchildren, his family, and friends. A graveside service will be held at Millheim Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2020. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing will be enforced for graveside services. Gone but never forgotten. We love you Richard. |
