Funeral services for Adolph Joseph Marek, 76, of Wallis were held Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. from Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis with the Rev. Ray John Marek and the Rev. Richard Johnston, S.C.J., co-celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of committal. Interment was at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis.

Pallbearers serving were Daniel E. Marek, John F. Stepczyk, David Stepczyk, Edward Kanak, Donald Marek, Lue Marek, Chris E. Holub and Mark L. Kosarek. Born in Wallis, Adolph Joseph Marek was the son of Frank and Mary (Polasek) Marek.

He was raised in Wallis and attended Guardian Angel Catholic School and Wallis High School. Adolph served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. Before he was drafted to serve his country he worked as a rancher. Upon his return he went to work in construction and then later was employed at WKM.

Adolph Joseph Marek married the former Miss Charlene Hranicky June 7,1959 with ceremony held at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis.

He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, K.J.T. and American Legion in Wallis.

Adolph Joseph Marek passed away Monday, April 17, 2006 in Houston.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Marek of Wallis, daughter; Marchell Marek and Michael "Mickey" Rosenblatt of Houston; sons, Joseph G. Marek of Houston and Franklin C. Marek of Austin; sister, Sidney Smesney of Houston; brothers, Bernard Marek and wife JoAnn of Wallis, Raymond Marek and wife Lillian of East Bernard, Johnnie Marek and wife Betty of Stafford and Edward Marek and wife B.B. Ann of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Hattie Marie Stepczyk and husband Robert of Pasadena and granddaughter, Makinzey Auriel Rosenblatt of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Marek and daughter, Natalie Marie Marek.
