Leroy was born December 17, 1930 in Burton, TX, to Robert H. Kokemor and Lillie (Winkelmann) Kokemor. He was baptized on February 22, 1931 at St. John Evangelical Church of Burton. On March 25, 1945, Leroy was confirmed at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg where he remained a member throughout his life. Leroy served in the U.S. Army from July, 1952, through April, 1954. On November 21, 1954, Leroy married Elaine Bockhorn, and they were blessed with three children. Leroy married Ruby Acock Barrett on March 6, 1976. He worked many years as an auto mechanic. He was employed at Ervin Luhn''s garage in Kenney, LaRoche Chevrolet in Brenham, and Courtesy Chevrolet in Houston. After years of traveling back and forth to Houston, he decided to open his own garage, Koke''s Auto Repair in Bellville. He also enjoyed shredding pastures and raising cattle on his farm in Kenney. For pastime, he faithfully watched "The Price is Right", "Wheel of Fortune", and loved playing straight dominoes, but rest assured, he did not want to quit playing until he had won more games than his opponent. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Alan Kokemor; sister, Ella Mae Neumann; the mother of his children, Elaine Bockhorn Kokemor; and Ruby Acock Barrett Kokemor.
