Funeral services for Earnest A. Witte, 86, of Wallis will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006 at the Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis with Rev. Rick Walters officiating. Interment will be in the Hartsville Cemetery near Wallis. Earnest August Witte was born in Hartsville to parents Willie and Annie Hoff Witte. He was reared in Hartsville and attended school at the Hartsville Public School. Mr. Witte served his country during World War II in the United States Army. On May 11, 1941, he married Ilene Hoffmann in Bellville and was a farmer most of his life. He was a member of the Wallis United Methodist Church. Mr. Witte died Nov. 10, 2006, in Wharton. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Linda and Gary Knesek of New Ulm, Kathy and Mike Kredell of Bryceville, Fla., Earnest and Debbie Witte of Rosenberg, Carl Witte of East Bernard, and Gerry and Melinda Witte of East Bernard; sister, Gladys Brenner of Bellville; grandchildren and their spouses, Monica and Eric Mikes, Connie and James Casteel, Jason King, Christina Kredell, Stephanie Witte, Keith Witte, Renee and Doug Macha, Vikki Hein, Jennifer Witte, Chelsea Witte, Brandi Witte and Brandon Witte; and great-grandchildren, Elana Mikes, Hannah Casteel and Dayne Macha. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Annie Witte; wife, Ilene Hoffmann Witte; daughters, Bonnie Witte and Rose Hein and husband, Allen; sister, Pearl Backhus; and brothers, Eric, Arnold and Bob Witte. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hartsville Cemetery Association, Alzheimer's Association, or the charity of choice. Thanks to Hospice of El Campo for its loving care.
