SSG Michael J. Quintero, age 29, died on Saturday, July 4, 2015 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Michael was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 6, 1985.
Michael is survived by his parents, Lee Sandoval and JoDean Quintero; wife, Carla Quintero; daughters, Emileigh and Vanessa Quintero; brothers, David Quintero and wife, Christina, Pat Sandoval and wife, Rachel, Chris Sandoval and wife, Pam, Shannon Sandoval and wife, Tracy; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who all loved him dearly. Awards: SSG Quintero's awards and decorations include: Army Commendation Medal (7 Awards), Army Achievement Medal (6 Awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal (3 Awards), National Defense Service Ribbon, Korean Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Service Star), Iraqi Campaign Medal (3 Service Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Ribbon, Army NCO professional Development Ribbon (2 Awards), Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon (4 Awards), NATO ISAF (International Security Assistance Force Medal), and a Certificate of Achievement. In addition he earned the Combat Action Badge. Visitation was held on Saturday July 11, 2015, from 2 pm until 3 pm at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1140 Meyer St./Hwy 36 in Sealy, Texas.
