Funeral Mass for Shirley Rita Babin, 87, of Bellville was held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville with Fr. Tim Bucek officiating. Graveside services were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, Texas. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at the church on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014. Pallbearers were Robert Kent Jr., Matt Kent, Justin Babin, Stephen Babin, Allayne Babin, Jon Kram and Dustin Walcik. Born in Whitecastle, La. Her parents are Louis Omer Bajon and Maud Marie LeBlanc. She was raised and attended school in White Castle, La. Shirley was joined in marriage to Herman Babin on April 16, 1950. Shirley was a director of a Nursery School, a homemaker and a wife. She loved to cook and fed us all well with her famous gumbo, potato salad and fudge candy. She was a long time member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She attended her beloved church faithfully. She enjoyed her family and most especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Shirley is survived by Debbie Kent and husband Robert of Sealy, sons, Danny Babin and wife Margaret of Cypress, David Babin and wife Valerie of Bellville. Brothers: Paul Cire Bajon of White Castle, La., Calvin James Bajon and wife Catherine of Baton Rouge, La. Half-sisters: Robin Bajon Edwards and family, Cheryl Bajon and family and Jean Bajon Weber and family of Louisiana. Grandchildren: Robert Kent Jr. and wife Daniela of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Angie Kram and husband Jon of Sealy, Matt Kent of Sealy, Justin Babin and wife Julie of Houston, Jennifer Babin of Cypress, Kayleigh Walcik and husband Dustin of Fayetteville, Stephen Babin of Bellville and Allayne Babin of Bellville. Great grandchildren: Brooke, Blair, Kara, and Karly Kram and Caleb Kent. Preceded in death by husband Herman F. Babin, parents Louis Omer Bajon and Maud Marie LeBlanc, sister Mary Alice Bajon. Brothers: Louis Joseph (L.J.) Bajon and wife Carmelite Forte, Charlton Andrew Bajon, Sr. and wife Evelyn Sophie Forte and Edward Charles Bajon. Stepmother Alma Lacroix and half-sister Trudy M. Bajon.
