Obituary
2021
Frank Michael Lemanski, 73, of Sealy, Texas, passed away on July 14, 2021 at his home. He was born March 18, 1948 in Detroit Michigan.
Frank found his way to Texas one week before his 30th birthday in 1978 and went to work as a draftsman in Houston. In 1995, Frank started working for Stewart and Stevenson Services, subsequently BAE, at the Sealy plant, and remained there until he retired. Frank loved his work and the people he worked with. This showed through the many awards he achieved for his great performance as an employee and being great to work with. On May 19, 1999, Frank was given a Nice Guy award "For dedication to his work and for being a nice guy"! Frank was a nice guy with a big heart! He never met a stranger, he loved people and he loved to talk with anyone that would listen. He could often be found at Walmart cruising the aisles, not looking for anything to buy, but looking for someone new to meet or someone he already knew to visit with. Frank was kind, caring, and giving. He had a full Santa Clause suit that he donned every year to greet the little ones at various Christmas events in Sealy. He definitely looked the part – no pillows necessary! And he had the best, "HO, HO, HO, Merry Christmas" ever! Frank was a member of the Sealy Rotary Club for many years and was appointed song master when he started writing songs for the group to sing at the start of each meeting. Once retired, Frank was looking for some way to give back to the community he so loved and came up with the idea of creating an opportunity for senior citizens to gather, play games and socialize. Hence, Sealy Playtime Recreation came into existence. Frank raised money to fund this endeavor and it was his pride and joy for many years until he was forced to close it down due to COVID. Frank truly loved Sealy and often spoke of how blessed he felt to be part of such a great community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his brother, Ed Hamlin and wife, Elaine; sister, Mary Lou Bergman; brother, Tony Knoblock; and brother, Lenn Piorkowski and wife, Sue; sister, Theresa Lemanski Gruzwalski; and sister, Judy Lemanski Swieezkowski; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanore Lijewski Hamlin Kloka; father, Anthony Frank Kloka; sister, Sylvia Marlene Hamlin LaFave; and sister, Joni Lemanski Prebelich. Internment in the Sealy Cemetery. |
