Jewell Jeannette Tomlinson passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Sealy at the age of 93 surrounded by family. Jewell was born on May 30, 1928 to Edwin and Elsie (Kveton) Schultz. She attended her early years of school in the Cleveland Community, later moving to Houston and graduating from Jefferson Davis High School in 1945.
On February 23, 1947, Jewell married the love of her life, Charles Ray Tomlinson. They had two children, Randy Scott and Sheila Dawn. During Charles Ray's Air Force time they were stationed in Wyoming and Florida eventually moving back to Sealy. She worked several years at Citizens State Bank then left to handle the books for Tomlinson Truck Line and Tomlinson Tire Company. She was a rancher most of her life, working cattle, fixing fences, and shredding pastures. Jewell also enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards, and dominoes. She loved her family and especially spoiling her grandchildren. Throughout the years she was active in the Austin County Emergency Unit, Austin County Horse Back Square Dance Team, Austin County Fair, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles Ray Tomlinson. Survived by sister, Joyce Meyer; son, Randy (Jana); daughter, Sheila (Billy); grandchildren, Cody, Thomas, Stacie, Tanner, and Jaz; great-grandchildren, Brilee, Hayleigh, Kamden, Gage, Josie, and Maybree; many nieces and nephews. A visitation was held on Monday, November 22, 2021, from noon to 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., all at Knesek Bros. Hwy 36 Funeral Chapel.
