Frances Marie (Markert) Wernecke, born 11/15/1937 in Lincoln, Tx.
Daughter of Carl Andreas Markert and Emilie Emma (Walther) Markert Married Vernon Eugene Wernecke on February 6, 1954 Lived in Houston, Cypress, Giddings, Brenham, Bellville and built their final home in 1996 in Industry, TX next to her daughter and son-in-law. Hobbies: Landscaping her yard, Working with her potted flowers, Playing with her puppy, Making homemade noodles and cookies and Watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up The grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a way of softening Frances’s heart and making her smile and laugh. Frances passed away peacefully at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Brenham, TX on December 26, 2022. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years-Vernon Wernecke, her son Michael Wernecke, five sisters-Ruth Pampell Falke, Irene Strokos, Edna Green, Betty Leutz Theiss, and Elyne Rackel, and 6 brothers-Ervin Markert, Collie Markert, Willie Markert, Gilbert Markert, Roland Markert and Freddie Markert. Brother-in-law Ray Wernecke and wife Velma, Brother-in-law Bobby Wernecke and wife Hattie, and Brother-in-law Al Frels. Survived by daughter Karen Wernecke Carter and husband Kenny of New Ulm, TX, Daughter-in-law Janine Wernecke of Bellville. 2 Sister-in-laws, Lillian Markert of Lexington, TX and Nita Frels of La Grange, TX. 3 Grandson’s Garrett Carter and wife Erin-Beth of Lake Charles, LA, Dustin Wernecke of Bellville, TX and Colin Wernecke and wife Megan of California City, CA. 7 Great Grandchildren-Haden and Danni Wernecke, Quinn and Campbell Carter, and Ryelynn, Wyatt, and Kayde Wernecke as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
