David R. Siptak Sr., 82, went home to his Lord and Savior Sunday morning at 5:57 a.m. on June 1, 2014. Mr. Siptak was born on Oct. 31, 1931 in Bleiblerville. He was married on March 25, 1950 to Doris Peters at the Brethren Church in Houston. David and Doris made their home in Houston for 30 years and were members of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Houston, where David served on the Board of Elders. In 1980 they moved into their country home in Industry and were member of the Nelsonville Brethren Church where he also served on the Board of Elders. David began his working in the drywall and painting industry in 1948 and in 1955 he started his own business, Siptak Drywall & Painting Co. He employed 100 or more employees. He was instrumental in starting the Drywall Contractors Association of Houston, where he eventually served as president of the Association David was a life member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. He served on the Board of Education at Lutheran High School. David’s enjoyment in life came from his tender care of his wife of 64 years and he loved taking care of their farm and home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin W. Siptak and Minnie Koester Siptak, sons in laws Ted Russell Dixon and Charles Orsak. He is survived by his wife Doris Peters Siptak, children Donald Siptak Sr. and wife Cheryl, Mary Orsak, David Siptak Jr. and wife Jerry. Grandchildren, Scott and Mellisa Dixon, Shawn and Michael Edward, Donald Siptak, Jr. and wife Carrie, Misty and Casey Uptmor, Lisa and Corey Gless, Garrett Wallace. Great grandchildren: Corbin, Myranda and Melynda Dixon, Kellie and Kylie Lauter, Sydney and Samantha Siptak, Macey and Jaycey Uptmor, Tyler and Katelyn Gless. Pallbearers include Shane Siptak, Scott Dixon, Donald Siptak, Jr., Corey Gless, Garrett Wallis, and Michael Edwards. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Knesek Bros Funeral Chapel, 842 E Main, Bellville. Funeral Services are at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Nelsonville Brethren Church with Rev. Mike Groseclose officiating. Interment will follow at National Cemetery in Nelsonville.
