Allene Richter Pounds, 87, of Waller, Texas and formerly from New Ulm, passed away on May 5, 2014 in Columbus. She was born on May 20, 1926 to Emil and Edna (Krause) Richter in New Ulm, TX. On March 11, 1949 she married Donald J. Pounds. Allene worked as a Title & Abstract Examiner. She was a member of St, John Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Allene is survived by her son, Michael Pounds of Waller; sister, Delores Huebner of Bellville; granddaughter, Jennifer Pogue of Marshall; and 3 great grandchildren, Sara, Abby, and Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Edna (Krause) Richter, husand Donald J. Pounds, and a sister, Roma Hubbard. Visitation was held Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, and on Friday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Glenn Hohlt officiating under the direction of Henneke Funeral Home. Burial took place in New Ulm Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Huebner, Tuddie Huebner, Travis Huebner, Sonny Wettneben, Kyle Gibson, and Brandi Gibson.
