On April 26, 1954, a beautiful baby girl was born to Doris Lewis and the late Mr. Albert Gilmore in Needville, Texas, they named her Dorothy Gilmore.
Miss Dorothy Gilmore met Mr. Howard Palmer and the two eventually united together and begun a family in Sealy, Texas. Howard provided for his family by working as a rancher, while his wife was a homemaker. They were blessed with seven children. Later in life Dorothy began her working career with the Bellville Independent School district; there she worked for over 20 years. They were members of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Sealy, Texas. They were very faithful in the church. Dorothy loved to read her Bible and making her family happy by telling jokes. They were both very faithful in working for the Lord. This talented couple took the Bellville community by storm through their powerful demonstration of servant hood, integrity, hard work ethics, and above all, a love for humanity. On October 17, our hearts were saddened when they departed this life. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Albert Gilmore, one brother, Anthony (Booboo) Lewis and their one son, Howard Lee Palmer Jr. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ora Lee Palmer and their one son, Howard Lee Palmer Jr., and two sisters, Rosie Lee Haynes and Lena Mae Palmer and one brother, George Palmer. Left to cherish Dorothy's memories is her mother, Doris Lewis. And both of their memories are their children: Shirley and Raymond Gilmore, Michael and Mary Ann Springs, Rodney Palmer, Edward and Gail Palmer, Ernest and Charlene Lampkin, and Andrew and Latavia Palmer; grandchildren; Brittany and Derrick Boggess, Chris Gilmore, Jonathan Gilmore, Elise Bynum, Affany Palmer, Shawndrea Palmer, Jessica Lemba, Megan Gilmore, Kaitlin Lemba, Kwanessia Palmer, Kenya Palmer, Cephas Lemba Jr., Christian Lemba, Erin Palmer, Jeremiah Palmer, and Derrick Odems,; two great grandchild, Kmira Boggess and Airuaune Houston. Dorothys two sisters, Betty Lewis and Rosie Lewis, Sealy, Texas three brothers; Willie Nunn (Gloria), Lennie Nunn (Marlo) and John Lewis (Christine), Sealy, Texas. Howards three sisters, Ella Mae Cloud, (Waldo), Pearl Simon, and Roberta (Thomas) Kinsey all of Sealy, Texas, and one brother, Raymond Palmer, Jr. (Lillian) as well as a host of siblings, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Howard and Dorothy were greatly loved by the community and abroad. They will be greatly missed. |
