Mrs. Anna Mozola, nee Svetlik, was born on July 24, 1856 in Vizovic, Czechoslovakia. Sixty years ago, she and her husband left the old country and came to Texas. Their first place of residence was Wesley Texas. In 1897, the family moved to the Wallis community where they bought a farm. Her husband preceded her in death in 1933. In 1939, she quit the farm and lived with her son, Mr. Frank Mozola and his family, near Wallis. In 1944, she went to Galveston to live with her daughter. Here she became ill and after getting better, she returned to Wallis to live with another daughter and here she died, having reached the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 5 days. One daughter, Mrs. Jos. F. Marek, and one son, Joseph J. Mozola, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure one son, Mr. Frank Mozola of Wallis; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Kovar of Pearland, Mrs. Rosa Heins of Galveston, Mrs. Olga Horelica of Wallis, and Mrs. Albina Kudelka of Galveston; and many grandchildren; and some great-grandchildren. Also, one brother, Jos. Svetlik of Buckholts, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church of Wallis, with the Rev. J.R. Vilt of Needville officiating, Thursday, January 31, 1946, at 1 p.m. The Knesek Funeral Home had charge of funeral arrangements. Burial took place in the Krasna Cemetery.
