David Allen McDonald was born to the late great, Mr. Willie McDonald and Ms. Juanita “Sweet” Cay on August 13, 1951 in Austin County. David grew up in the Sealy community where he attended Sealy High School. David excelled in academics with a great love of education and teaching like no other. He completed a tour in the military and upon his return became the first McDonald to receive a college degree from Prairie View University. David went on to receive his barber’s license and later became an educator at Royal High School.
David met and married the late Littie Reen McKinney whom he loved and adored. David and Reen were true soulmates who resided in Sealy, Texas and enjoyed spending time together. The Lord blessed this union with one son, Geoffrey Allen McDonald. David knows the Lord without a doubt working as an active usher at Bethel Baptist church in Sealy, Texas until his journey ended. Cracka was not afraid to voice his opinions and inserted himself where he saw a need. He was humble enough to clean up or fix any appliance at the church and provided motivation and coaching to family, young adults, and kids in the community to vote and remain grounded in your relationship with God. David’s life will be forever cherished and remembered by his only son, Geoffrey Allen McDonald, of Sealy, Texas; his two grandchildren Tayden Ybarra, of Katy, Texas and Natalie McDonald of Houston, Texas; brothers Ronnie McDonald (Keisha) of Houston, Texas and Willie Ray McDonald of Sealy, Texas; Sisters Joyce McDonald of Wallis Texas, Carol McDonald and Regina McDonald both of Sealy, Texas, and Diane McDonald of Katy, Texas; uncle Edorise McDonald of Denver, Colorado; aunt Yvonne Zellis-Cooper of Sealy, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
