William Wallace “Paul” “Mac” McCoy, 84, of Bellville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, in Bellville. Paul was born Oct. 5, 1930, in Houston, the son of John Millen and Elma Blanche Wallace McCoy. He grew up and attended school in Houston, graduating from Reagan High School. Paul served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On June 1, 1961, Paul married Edy Ona Schrameck in Houston. They raised their family in Hempstead and New Ulm, and most recently made their home in Bellville. A hard worker and jack of all trades, Paul always kept his tools clean and organized for his “tinkering.” During his working years, he was employed in maintenance with Cameron Iron Works. He retired after 30 years of service and later went to work for J & S Water Wells in Bellville. A devout Catholic, Paul was the Saint name given. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Frelsburg. Paul enjoyed restoring cars especially old Mustangs, and 1949 and 1954 Ford trucks and his old Mercury. He also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. Paul was an enthusiastic reader of Texas history. He enjoyed taking his family on road trips to the lake to camp and to the Guadalupe River. His favorite trips were to Big Bend and San Antonio. He enjoyed watching the deer and walking the trails on his property. Paul was a big talker and enjoyed cutting up with everyone. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Paul treasured the time he was able to spend with his many friends and his family. He is survived by his wife of over 53 years Edith “Edy” McCoy of Bellville; daughters Lyn McCoy and Lori Lynn; sons Robert William and Donald Joe, Steven McCoy and Douglas McCoy; grandchildren Donovan, Chrystal, Ashley, Madeline, Stefanie, Lauren, Tommye, Taylar, Tanner, Hayden, McKenzie, Ariel, Brooke, Donald, Jr., Steven, Jr., Samantha, Devon, Jessica, and Shayann; great grandchildren Emma, Ethan, Mason, Rylan, Willow, Parker, Renee, Ashley, Donovan, Jr., Michael, Meghan, Meredith, Mallory, Matthew, Colton, Rylee, Raymond and Skylar; sister Anna Lou Lewis. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Willie Jake, son Tommy McCoy, grandson Mitchell Paul Northrup, granddaughter Robynn Elizabeth Cox and brother, John Millen McCoy. Visitation was held from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at the Christian Faith Church. Funeral Service followed at 1 p.m., with Pastor Lynn Burling officiating.
