A Rosary and funeral service for Johnnie P. Marek, 84, of Stafford, Texas will be held on Friday, October 20,2017 at Knesek and Sons in Wallis Texas, with Deacon Bill Seifert officiating. Visitation starts at 10:00 a.m. Followed by the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Service at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held immediately after at the Krasna Cemetery, near Wallis, Texas. John was born in Wallis Texas August 1, 1933 and passed away October 16, 2017 in Richmond, TX. John was born in Wallis Texas to Frank and Mary (Polasek) Marek. He proudly served our Country in the Army as Private First Class from April 6, 1954 to March 23, 1956 during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by ACF Industries, W-K-M Valve Division in Missouri City, Texas for 32 years. He worked for Waukesha-Pearce Industries Inc in Houston Texas, where he retired at age 65. He also had part-time positions with Weingarten’s and Randalls. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, and a member of the Golden Friendship Group. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #200, Wallis, TX, and a member of KJT society number 40, East Bernard. He was a Honorary Life Member in the Knights of Columbus, Council Number 4204. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marek; his parents; infant daughter-Baby Girl Marek; and brother, Adolph Marek. John is survived by; daughters, Lou Ann Mowka and husband, Stephen, Carol Prokop and husband, Patrick, Judy Dunmire and husband, David and Kay Marek and husband, Alex Munguia; and grandchildren, Aaron Paul Munguia and Trenton Joseph Prokop; his sister, Sidney Smesny, and brothers, Edward Marek, Raymond Marek and wife Lillian, Bernard Marek and wife Jo Ann, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
