Audrey Mae Mecham Krueger was born June 15, 1934, in Michigan, the daughter of Floyd and Sadie Mecham. She grew up and attended schools in the Farmington, Mich. A Lutheran by Faith, Audrey was united in marriage to Wesley Krueger on Feb. 14, 1965, in Michigan. They made their home in Whitmore Lake and Jackson, Mich., and Houston before moving to Bellville in 1987. Audrey and Wesley were members of the St. John Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir. Audrey was the manager of Bell Oaks Apartments for many years before going on to partner with her husband making breakfast and delicious burgers, well-liked by the locals and anyone that came to town wanting a great lunch was directed to George’s Quick Stop. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and knitting. Audrey loved watching movies such as “Jack Frost” with Michael Keaton and “Turn the Page” with Bob Seger, she always said, “That man needs a haircut”, to name a few. She could not say, aluminum foil, so she called it “Tin Foil.” Audrey had a love for Clydesdale horse and could name each one, she was also was known for her April fool’s joke and her sneeze that could be heard for miles, she loved to have fun at family reunions playing water gun fights. She enjoyed musicals of any kind. Audrey was also known for her contagious smile and beautiful disposition. She will be remembered for taking pride in all the things that she did. Audrey loved her family and friends and adored all of her grandchildren. She was known to everyone as, “Aunt Aud.” Audrey passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, in Bellville at the age of 79. She is survived by her children Jerry Kilroy and his wife, Diane of Michigan, Jeff Krueger and his wife, Patsy, of Michigan, Jim Krueger and his wife, Linda, of Tennessee, Dawn Krueger of Bellville, Staci Gross of Brenham, Marcia Higgins and her husband, Pat, of Michigan, Lois and her husband Mike Fiore, of California, Karen Kasten and her husband, Stu, of Missouri and Gail Aldrich and her husband, Billy, of Florida; grandchildren Kim, Rhae, Donnie, Jessica, Jeff, Karla, Denise, Angela, Emily, Melinda, Kelli, Nickolas, Nicole, Kristina, Chucky, Rob, Andy, and Jennifer; 34 great grandchildren AND 2 great-greast grandchildren. Audrey is also survived by her sister Sadie Wallace and her husband, Norman, of Michigan; brothers Bob Mecham and his wife, Barb, of Florida, Ernie Mecham and his wife, Marylou, of Michigan, Paul Mecham and his wife, Trὀttel, of Michigan, Jim Mecham and his wife, Jean, of Michigan and Jack Mecham and his wife, Brenda, of Texas. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Sadie Mecham, husband, Wesley Krueger, brothers, Floyd Mecham and Richard Mecham, sister, Becky Mahoney and son-in-law, Dwayne Gross, and granddaughter, Meredith Higgins. A Memorial Service in honor of Audrey Krueger will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at the St. John Lutheran Church, in Bellville with Reverend Bill Schwertlich officiating.
