Funeral Services for Edith Karas, 86, of Sealy were held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2013 from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy with Rev. Eric Pitre celebrating the Funeral Mass and rite of committal. Interment in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy. Edith Marie Nentwig was born on Jan. 29, 1927 in Alton, Ill. to parents Robert Nentwig and Edith Rexford Nentwig. She attended ICC School in Illinois and graduated from Sealy High School and the University of Houston. Edith worked for Shell Oil in the Refinery division. She was a member of ICC Church and Sealy Catholic Daughters. Edith Karas passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in a Katy Hospital. Survivors include her son, Kevin Stasny and wife Jill of Katy, sister, Freda Jemela of Sealy, grandchildren, Beriah Stasny and wife Shealyn of Katy, Kirk Weathers of Sealy, Melisa Kloss and husband Karl of Brookshire and Ryan Stasny and wife Jennifer of Pattison, great grandchildren, Asher Keith Stasny, Kaitlyn Marie Kloss and Rylan John Stasny. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edith Nentwig, sisters, Frances Reitz, Roberta Fiore and Sharyn Weathers and son, Keith Stasny.
