Funeral services for Gloria Aguilar Ortiz, 68, of Sealy, were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at Knesek Funeral Home in Sealy. Gloria passed away after a long, hard fought battle with stomach and pancreatic cancers on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015. Gloria enjoyed the simple pleasures in life including cooking and spending time with family. She also enjoyed shopping, whether it be at a local gift shop, the mall, or ordering from QVC. Gloria will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend. Gloria leaves to cherish her memories brothers, Eliseo, Robert, Juan, Ruben, Jerry, Fred, and Ricky Aguilar; sisters, Mary Aguilar, Alice Villalobos, Linda Rivas, and Diane Aguilar; children, Mike Escobedo, Jackie Loera, Raphael Ortiz, Juvenal Ortiz, Rebecca Guidry, Justin Ortiz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren. Gloria is preceded in death by parents Antonio and Rafaela Casares Aguilar, sister, Rose Mary Aguilar, and son, Gerald Escobedo. Pallbearers include Raphael Ortiz, Juvenal Ortiz, Todd Guidry, Eric Guidry, Michael Montoya, and Jose Meza.
