James Francis “Jimmy” Keough, (49), an inquisitive, fun-loving, free spirit died of cancer on Oct. 5, 2013 at home surrounded by his devoted and loving wife, Kathleen “Katie” Barbour, and young daughter, Erin. Jimmy, formerly of District Heights, MD was the son of the late John and Adelaide (Higgins) Keough and son-in-law of Keith and Mary Etta Barbour. He is survived by his siblings and in-laws John (Kelly) Keough; Anne (the late Kevin) Keehn; Maryellen (Chas) Griffiths; Peggy (David) Bartay of Texas; and Chris (Sarah Pulcher) Barbour, as well as, 9 nieces and nephews and a big Irish family. Because Jimmy never forgot a friend - old or new, near or far - he will be missed by many, especially his lifelong Mt. Calvary buddies. Jimmy taught us that cancer cannot cripple love, shatter hope, corrode faith, destroy confidence, silence courage or reduce eternal life. His life on earth was short but his memory, for those he touched and shared his journey with, will never be forgotten. Jimmy leaves a legacy of his faith, strength, courage and unconditional love for his precious daughter, Erin, loving wife, Katie, his siblings, family and friends. Viewing and life celebration services will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater, MD from 5-8 p.m. followed by a Catholic mass and reception on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, Millersville, MD at 11 a.m. Dress cheerfully!
