Kainer, Lauren Elizabeth
Obituary
2023
Lauren Elizabeth Kainer, 26, of Sealy, was born to John and Liz Kainer on June 20, 1996, in Houston, Texas. She went to her heavenly home on February 1, 2023, two years to the day that her Grandmother Mary passed away.
Lauren was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, Texas, where she was baptized and shared receiving the sacrament of her First Holy Communion with her brother Jared and cousin Wyatt. A daily ritual for Lauren was listening and praying the rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. She attended Sealy schools and graduated in May of 2017. She was blessed with many excellent teachers, aides, therapists, coaches, and administrators who addressed her specialized learning needs. Due to Lauren’s medical issues, she was also blessed to be able to have her Grandmother Patty assigned to be her personal classroom aide. They made many beautiful art projects together that she shared with family and friends. In addition, she was involved in Special Olympics for several of these years and one year was able to have her brother, Jared, as her coach and her cousin, Blaine as her assistant coach. Lauren enjoyed music and was able to keep the rhythm by moving her thumb or ringing her bells. She loved being in the middle of her loud cousins and brother, who was her superhero (especially when he dressed up as Spiderman). Celebrating her birthdays with family at the skating rink was always a treat, particularly when her cousins would take turns pushing her around the rink in her wheelchair. Attending movies with all the bright lights and loud noises and participating in adaptive bowling were other activities she loved. Sharing time watching football, especially the Cowboys, and dancing with her dad, John, were her favorite moments. She was most responsive when she heard male voices; the most memorable time was when she was hospitalized with multiple tubes taped to her, but when her grandfather, Lawrence, came in to see her, she immediately turned her head all around to look at him when she heard his voice. She was also blessed with and enjoyed the home care provided by many excellent nurses over the years. The family prays that no one doubts that Lauren had a purpose on this earth. Lauren had a special gift of touching others’ hearts with just her presence. Her family called her “an Angel on earth.” When Lauren was 11 months old and very ill in the hospital, her mother was praying the rosary and had a vision of the Virgin Mary holding Lauren, blessing her, and putting her down to run back to her mother. The priest told Liz that the Virgin Mary was sharing Lauren with us. The family felt blessed to be able to care for her. After a lot of praying, it was revealed that she was not the one who needed to be healed and needed to be loved just the way she was. She healed many in her own special way from her bed and wheelchair without even saying a word. So, the family has no doubt that Lauren has completed “her mission” here on earth and is now in the royal court of her Heavenly mother, Mary, the Queen of Heaven, and her Beloved Son Jesus, as a princess wearing her Crown of Glory. She is dressed today, ready to play the part She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Kwiatkowski, and her paternal grandfather, Lawrence Alfred Kainer.
