Herald Coaster, May 20, 1962:
A Tavener man, Edward Jurek, 77, was found just outside his home Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. with a gun wound in his left chest. Sheriff R.L. Gaston said that a 22-caliber rifle was used to inflict the fatal gunshot wound. Justice of the Peace Floyd Bremer of Needville returned a verdict of self-inflicted gunshot wound. |
