Hilda Brast Krancher Grayless, born Nov. 15, 1923, went to be with her Lord on April 14, 2004 after a brief illness. Mrs. Grayless is preceded in death by her first husband of 10 years, Leslie Krancher; her second husband of eight years, Clyde Grayless; son, Larry Lee Krancher; step-son, Dewey Ray Krancher; brothers, Alvin Brast, Fritz Brast, and Hugo Brast; and sister, Josie Brast-Stamnitz. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Marek and husband, David, of Wallis, and Linda Heintz of La Grange; sons, Les Krancher and wife, Jane, of Rosenberg, and Kirby Krancher and wife, Carolyn, of Rosenberg; sister, Eline Pfeffer of Bellville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2004, in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Sealy City Cemetery in Sealy, with Dr. Donnie Melton officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Fritz Oberhoff, the Rev. Charles Teykl, Danny Dequeant, David Marek, Jason Sweatt, and Chris Krancher. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made in Hilda's name to the American Cancer Society, Greater Houston Area, P.O. Box 570127, Houston, Texas 77257.
