Laura Huff, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Friday, March 21 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22 in Welcome Lutheran Church with Rev. John R. Sutton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Laura was born Dec. 18, 1917 in Austin County, Texas to parents Tony (Eben) and Adolph Wensel. On December 19, 1940 she was united in marriage to Willie Huff. She farmed and ranched alongside her husband for many years in the Welcome community as well as being a homemaker. She was a life-long member of Welcome Lutheran Church. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Judy Huff of the Welcome Community, Gale and Tommy Horlen of Hearne; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Connie and Teola Huff of Nelsonville; niece Dale (husband Leslie) Heinsohn of Frelsburg as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Leslie Wensel and sister-in-law May Dell Wensel. Memorials may be given to Welcome Lutheran Church Building Fund, Hospice Brazos Valley or charity of choice. Pallbearers are Randy Hegemeyer, Mark Hegemeyer, Leslie Heinsohn, Ricky Huff, Dixon Ashorn and Bobby Rinn.
