Rebel Awilda Hoff was born on April 25, 1918, in a small community of Birdtown near Blossom, Texas in Lamar County to parents R.C. (Bob) Nation and Lilly Faye Pitts Nation. Rebel attended public school in Birdtown and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1939. Attended Beauty College and became a beauty operator in Genoa, Texas. On Jan. 20, 1941 she married Alvin Louis Hoff from Bellville. Rebel and Alvin were successful farmers and ranchers in the Ives Creek community. Rebel worked at Brenham State School from 1975-1985 taking care of residents and doing office work. Her love and joy were her husband, children, grandchildren and great grand- children, as well as all family members and friends. Rebel loved to dance, garden, cook and read. She loved delicious desserts, good food and gatherings with family and friends. Rebel was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church where she was a lifetime member. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World, participated in the Cochran PTA and 4-H and served as room mother for her children. Rebel is survived by her son Jerry Hoff and wife Doris, daughter Carolyn Hoff Kopycinski and husband John, sisters Lottie Hiller and Sue McHavier. Grandchildren Becky Hoff Allcorn and husband Guy, Marshall Louis Hoff and wife Shelli, Mark Kopycinski, and Christi Kopycinski Strock and her husband Matt. Great grandchildren Colton Hoff, Caden Hoff, John William Strock, Robert Strock and Will Strock. Preceded in death by her parents, R.C. (Bob) Nation and Lilly Faye Pitts Nation, husband Alvin Louis Hoff, son Charles Edward Hoff, sisters Virginia Nation Gottwald, Mildred Nation Moore, Bobbie Jamison, Jimmie Rogers, brother Robert H.
