August 2003 Larry Lee Macha was born April 14, 1948 in Wharton, Texas. The son of Leroy W. and Ann Kova Macha, he grew up and attended school in East Bernard, graduating from East Bernard High School. In 1970, he graduated from Texas A&M University and, in 1973, he graduated from the University of Texas School of Law. Larry was united in marriage with Margaret Guilbeaux in Rosenberg. They made their home in Bellville where they have been members of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. A prominent, well-respected Attorney in Austin County, Larry had been active in numerous civic organizations. He was currently Legal Counsel for Industry State Bank, San Bernard Electric Coop and the First National Bank in Bellville. A country boy at heart, Larry loved ranching and tending his cattle. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a devoted husband and father, and had a great sense of humor. He passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003 in Houston at the age of 55. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years Margaret Macha; and children Ross Macha and Sarah Macha, all of Bellville. He is also survived by his mother Ann Kovar Macha of Hungerford; sister Judy Macha Brown of Houston; brother Gene Macha of Hungerford; father-in-law Charles Guilbeaux of Houston; and many other dear friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Macha. Vigil Service was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2003 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville. Funeral was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Father Tim Bucek, Celebrant. Graveside Service followed at 2 p.m. at St. John Church Cemetery in Hungerford. Pallbearers were Guy Schultz, Gary Frank, Jimmy Marik, Dale Sikora, Terry Logan and Charles Goeke. Honorary pallbearers were Nelson Davis and J.R. King. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.0. Box 15186, Austin, Texas, 78761, the American Diabetes Association, Always and Forever Memorial and Honor Program, P.0. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio, 44720 or to the charity of their choice.
