Floyd Allen Mikeska, 73, of Kenney, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, in Bryan. He was born July 13, 1941, in Bellville, the son of Frank Herbert and Helen (Roehling) Mikeska. Floyd was baptized on Aug. 31, 1941, and was confirmed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg. He grew up and attended schools in the Bellville area. During high school, Floyd was a member of the Naval Reserves. In 1959, he graduated from Bellville High School and then attended Blinn College. Following college, Floyd enlisted into the United States Navy. Floyd was united in marriage to Patsy Lynn on Feb. 20, 1965, in Bellville. He was in the banking business in Brenham and Houston for many years. His passion for cars leads him to work in auto sales and management, having worked at Tegeler Chevrolet and Toyota. He also enjoyed raising his cattle and making hay. Floyd is survived by his WIFE: Patsy Mikeska of Kenney; brother Delano Mikeska and wife, Donna, of Early, Texas; mother-in-law Doris Lynn of Brenham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joe Ed and Patsy Lynn of Bellville, and Fred Lynn and Judy Hedden of Kenney; nieces Greta Gammill and husband, Matt, and Paige Lynn; nephews Jon Lynn and Zack Lynn; great nephews Garett Gammill and Vann Lynn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Mikeska, son, Michael Lynn Mikeska and father-in-law, Edgar Lynn. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville. Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Harry Brisco officiating. Interment followed in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jon Lynn, Ruben Mikeska, Bart DeWitt, Robert Mikeska, Matt Gammill and Maurice Hart. Friends may make memorial gifts to the: Boys and Girls Club of Austin County, P.O.
