Obituary Mrs. Grat (Edna) Fisher Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Fisher, 90, of Bellville were held from the chapel of the Pete E. Etlinger Funeral Home in Bellville at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1 with Rev. Harold Sellers officiating. Burial was in the Oak Knoll Cemetery. Pallbearers were: T. L. Smith, James Poffenberger, Danny Poffenberger, Charles Murphey, Marion Ruggles and Gary Hohlt. Mrs. Fisher died in the Bellville Sweetbriar Nursing Home at 8:35 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 1984. She had been in failing health for the past month. Born in the Peters Community on November 29, 1893 she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ludwig. She was reared in Peters and attended the Peters Public School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellville. On September 27, 1914 the former Miss Edna Ludwig was married to Grat Fisher in ceremonies performed in Peters. Mr. Fisher died on March 1, 1970. Survivors include: daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Laverne) Cook of Bellville and Mrs. Nell F. Woodwoard of Burton; son, James L. Fisher of Nacodoches; sisters, Mrs. Lillie Balke of Houston, Mrs. Edwin Frels of Houston and Mrs. Hattie Vornkahl of Bellville; brother Edwin Ludwig of Industry; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and one grandson, Larry. |
