Mrs. Leon Fisher Obituary: Mrs. Leon Fisher, 64, widely known Bellville matron, died suddenly in the local hospital at 9:16 a. m. Monday, June 8, following a heart attack suffered the preceding Friday. She had felt bad that evening, but it was not until Sunday that she felt seriously ill, and was hospitalized. Funeral rites were held at the chapel of the Pete E. Etlinger Funeral home at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, with the Rev. Bill McDaniel officiating. Interment was at Oak Knoll. A native of Sealy, Mrs. Fisher was born April 5, 1895. The former Miss Alma May Stafford, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stafford. After attending school near Sealy, she married to Mr. Fisher January 29, 1916, in Bellville. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Bellville. Deeply devoted to her family and friends, Mrs. Fisher was universally loved and admired. Survivors include her husband and two daughters, Mrs. T. M. King of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Chester Low, who with her husband and children left New York April 3 for Lyon, France, where Mr. Low is in the diplomatic service. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Fulgham of Temple; a brother, R. E. Stafford of Bellville, and six grandchildren |
