On February 13, 1953 in Sealy, Texas a baby girl was born to the late Beverley Faye Holiday and Kerry Lowe. They named her Delong Holiday. Delong attended school in Brenham, Texas. Delong was converted when she was young and united with St. John in Brenham and at Cole Chapel U.M.C in Sealy Texas where she spent her summers and holidays with Aunt Mae Nina Lewis. On October 10, 1970 Delong Holiday was united in Holy Matrimony with James Finley. This union was blessed with three children.
She was preceded in death by her mother Beverley Faye Holiday, father Kerry Lowe, grandparents General Lee and Artie Flenn Holiday, grandchildren Tasia Janee Finley and Keimond Embry. She leaves to cherish her memory husband James Finley, sons Cardyl (Shelena) Finley, Ronald Finley, and Angel (Rajah) Davis, god-daughter Ariel Warrior, sister Neva Holiday Ray, grandchildren Tristan (Crystal) Embry, Delvin, Jazae, Dai’Kwan, Ashaundrick, MaeKenya, great grandchildren Taylen and Jaliyah and a host of relatives and friends. --- Bellville Times DeLong Holiday Finley was Saturday Feb. 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Coles Chapel United Methodist Church, 438 San Felipe Rd Sealy, with the Rev. Sid Lafleur Pastor officiating. Wake services were Friday from 6-9 p.m. at Coles Chapel U.M.C. under the Direction of Austin County Funeral Home. Viewing was from noon Friday until 4 p.m. at Austin County Funeral Home. Mrs. Finley went home to be with the Lord Sunday Morning Jan. 27, 2013 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Sealy to which she met and married her best friend Mr. James Finley Oct. 10, 1970. They were lifelong partners to which they were blessed with three children. Delong will be truly missed by her husband of 42 years James and her loving children, son Cardyl Finley( Shelena), Ronald Finley and Angel Davis (Rajah). Grandchildren Tristan, Delvin, Jazae, DaiKwan, Ashaundrick, MaeKenya, great grands Taylen and Jaliyah, sister Neva Holiday, God daughter Ariel Warrior and a host of other relatives and friends.
