Paul Milton Engeling, 87, passed away April 22, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Paul was born Nov. 12, 1926, in the Pleasant Hill Community in Brenham, Texas to Paul H. and Emma (Kolwes) Engeling. He was baptized in 1927, at Salem Lutheran Church in Brenham and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville in 1941. He was a graduate of Brenham High School and continued his education at Blinn College and received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1954, from the University of Houston. Paul served in the US Merchant Marines and in the 421st Army Band in Germany during WWII. He was the owner of Paul’s Pharmacy in Bellville from 1959-1979, an Associate with Marek Real Estate, and a Rancher on his land. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Bellville for over 55 years with membership in the Men’s Choir, Church Council, and was a Greeter. Paul is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 64 years, Ruth (Geick) Engeling; daughter, Paula Lynn Wooley (Wayne); son, John David Engeling; grandchildren, Erin Nastoupil, J.W. Nastoupil and, Brooke Nastoupil, Karina Engeling and Krista Engeling, Justin Wooley and Jeff Wooley (Chelsea); great grandchildren, Drew Slayton, Derek Slayton and Dacy Slayton, Lanilynn Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Ida Geick; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie and Fred Sander, and Adeline and Herman Schlottman. Visitation was held from 1-4 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville. Funeral Service was held Friday, April 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. Visitation with the family was held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment followed at the Oak Knoll Cemetery. “But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name, you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1 Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home.
