or Lille or Lilly~Shown as a TX sharpshooter.~married farmer from Industry~Enlisted March 22, 1862 at Industry Texas and was mustered into service in Houston on April 4, 1862 by CAPT S. M. Drake.~Captured at Yazoo City.~Escaped from the Irving Block Prison in Memphis sometime over the next 6 months as muster rolls show him back with Battalion in Jan & Feb 1864 (family version)~Voigt version - Along the way to St. Louis by steamboat & downstream of Helena, he, Kubitz & Kosse escaped across the river during the night.
