Rank: private, then Corporal and later SGT~married.~Enlisted March 22, 1862 at Industry, TX.~February 1863 he was sent to Vaughns Station to retrieve company property.~Following their capture at Yazoo City and trip as prisoners to Vicksburg, along the way to St. Louis by steamboat & downstream of Helena, he, Lilie & Kosse escaped across the river during the night.~Klopsteck diary dates the Kubitz escape as July 27, 1863.~Rejoined Co. K of Timmon?s Regiment at Galveston.~In C.A. Weise journal (not located) (b.1832) Enlisted March 22, 1862 at Industry, TX. under Bader and mustered in on April 4, 1862 at Houston by Captain S. M. Drake, CSA Mustering Officer.~He was present at the roll calls, but on February 14, he was detailed from Camp Loring to go to Vaughns Station to retrieve some property of the company.~Captured at Yazoo City on July 13, 1863 and sent to Memphis, TN under Union Maj.
